PrayerWhat is Reiki?

Reiki is the Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy. It is a centuries old healing system that is experienced as still "hands on" touch.  A treatment directs energy to the parts of the body and auric field that need cleared, revitalized or supported.   Just as many eastern “medical” methods, western research via case studies and now clinical studies are revealing the effectiveness of Reiki.  For more information, visit the National Institute of Health website  www.nih.com and go to the Complementary and Alternative Medicine link.

Reiki works directly with the nervous system, which controls all functions and organs of the body.  It therefore heals at the core level of the pain, disease or stress.  It has been my experience with clients having physical pain or disease that sometimes as Reiki alleviates the symptoms there is another level of healing that occurs that is more than physical.  Clients then experience a more complete and long lasting recovery.

Reiki is a pain and stress reliever

Reiki has helped clients to release pain, increase their energy, promote total relaxation and calms the mental and emotional stress that accumulates in the body.

Reiki is beneficial for:

  • Chronic / Acute Pain

  • Depression / Grief / Life Transition issues

  • Emotional / Lifestyles stress

  • Pre-Post surgery / Decreases side effects of cancer treatments

  • Body Disconnection

Clients report leaving each session feeling deeply relaxed, pain-free and more energized. They also have a stronger sense of internal support, connection and well-being, and experience a greater clarity and confidence to address issues current in their lives.

Origins

Developed in the mid-1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui, Reiki means universal life force energy or "ki" (chi in Chinese medicine). Dr. Usui was a Japanese doctor who resolved to fully understand the essence of healing. He successfully treated hundreds of patients in his hospital clinic and trained other doctors to heal with Reiki. Dr. Usui treated a Hawaiian woman, Mrs. Takata, and she eventually brought Reiki to the United States. Today Reiki is being used in over 200 hospitals and clinics across the U.S. and many successful clinical studies have been conducted.

Reiki Testimonial

Through Reiki sessions with Suzanne I experienced an acceleration of the healing of my emotional issues and this experience has been a powerful part of my personal journey of recovery.

In one of my first sessions, I literally dropped into my body which I had been detached from probably since childhood. From there, over time -- I developed a deep sense of completeness and connection and wholeness. Suzanne is gifted healer and a lovely person.
