Suzanne is a Licensed Massage Therapist specializing in relaxation, chronic pain relief and injury recovery massage. She incorporates Swedish massage to loosen and warm the muscle tissue and to provide relief and relaxation to your body and mind. If muscle tension lies below then she massages the specific pain areas using deep tissue massage and Myofacial Release techniques. For chronic and specific pain issues Suzanne incorporates Trigger Point Therapy, which is very effective in releasing “knots” or contractions. This therapy can relieve pain from injury and provide relief from chronic headaches, migraines and any joint pain.

Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release releases tension from the fibrous bands of connective tissue (fascia) in the body. Fascia is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein as well as all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. Treatment of this fascia frees restrictions or blockages and tension on bones, muscles and joints is relieved. Stretching and subtle but effective movement and kneading are used to relieve pain and restriction in the tissue.
People with Myofacial pain often have chronic muscle or joint pain, a lack of energy resulting from muscle soreness or pain in areas unrelated to an injury but that could be affected.
Trigger Point Therapy
A trigger point is a small contraction knot in the muscle tissue. It keeps the muscle in a continual state of contraction causing pain and muscle disability. These tight muscle fibers keep constant tension on the muscle’s attachment points, often producing pain in adjacent joints as well as in the soft tissue. The tension from the trigger points on the muscle fibers restricts circulation. Lack of oxygen and nutrients needed, the trigger points are perpetuated for months or even years, unless intervention occurs.
Headaches, neck and jaw pain, back pain, insomnia, numbness and tingling in the arms or legs, symptoms of carpal tunnel, joint pain, earaches, dizziness, nausea, heartburn, false heart pain, heart arrhythmia, tennis elbow and sinus pain can all be the cause of trigger points.
Trigger points are released by applying pressure for several minutes for a positive effect to occur. Due to the chronic nature of trigger points, it may take several sessions to enjoy a full recovery. The results of trigger point therapy are radical. Clients who have been in pain for months or even years have experienced relief in just a few sessions!
People are spending more money on alternative health care including massage than traditional western medicine. Medical doctors and researchers are now claiming that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress related. And perhaps nothing affects us more, internally and externally, than high stress. In this fast-paced world stress is difficult to alleviate without help. Massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress.
Massage can help to:
Decrease anxiety.
Enhance sleep quality.
Provide more energy.
Improve concentration.
Increase circulation.
Reduce fatigue.
Also, clients often report a more positive perspective and clarity after receiving a massage. The emotional balance bodywork provides can often be just as valuable as the more tangible physical benefits.
What exactly are the benefits of receiving massage or bodywork treatments?
Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion.
Ease medication dependence.
Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defense system.
Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles.
Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts.
Improve the condition of the body’s largest organ—the skin.
Increase joint flexibility.
Lessen depression and anxiety.
Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks.
Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.
Reduce post surgery adhesions and swelling.
Reduce spasms and cramping.
Relax and soften injured, tired, and overused muscles.
Release endorphins—amino acids that work as the body’s natural painkiller.
Relieve migraine pain.
Assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays.
